Hey, my name’s Zach – welcome to the No Fuss Vegan! I created this site because on an almost daily basis I hear something like, “I could never go Vegan, what do you even eat!?!” Well, first off I get to eat really, wholesome, nourishing food, and if I can spin it into delicious recipes, well that’s just an extra win!
I’m a full time college student, but that doesn’t mean I can’t cook with the best of, and make it simple and fun! I created The No Fuss Vegan because I wanted people to see that you don’t have to fuss over vegan food. I make everything from Pies and Cookies, to Fried Rice and Chili! This site is about making satisfying foods that don’t make you feel guilty about your choices!
A little bit of back story about how I came into the vegan and plant-based world.
While I’m only 21-years-old I’ve done quite a few things in my life. At the age of 16 I was nearly 100 pounds overweight, fighting depression, and on the verge of developing diabetes. When I finally chose to adopt some amazing things into my life, namely fitness, positive people, and real food – I was able to beat that awful reflection in the mirror and grow into a happier healthier me! Here’s my before and after if you care too see!
I have been Following a Vegan diet since early 2012, but had some turbulence in the beginning! But I’m happy to say I’m a fully blog vegan, and I love every second of it! I originally started for the healthy benefits but the more I learn about the food industry and animal treatment – the happier I am with my decision! It doesn’t matter where you came from to end up on this path, the benefits are still the same!
I love spending time in my kitchen, but there is another place I feel right at home, the aerobics room at the gym! I’m a group exercise instructor and I LOVE every moment of teaching, I get to experience the natural high of exercise with a group of motivated, caring, and wonderful people looking for positive results!
I always joke that I workout to eat, but it’s only half a joke haha! But what is great about the vegan diet is that if you make whole food choices, you can enjoy real food, supplement exercise, and still look and feel great! So with this site I focus on food that makes you healthy inside and out, but exercise is an important piece in my life too!
Oh I almost forgot! From time to time, you can also expect to see cameos from my dog Teddy! He’s a Shih Tzu mix and a rescue and I love him to death! I don’t mind putting him in sweater and a hat when it get’s cold – so caution things may get cute!
